2025 Beach Pro Tour Sets Record with 49 Women's Events

The 2025 Beach Pro Tour concluded its season with a notable achievement: it hosted 49 women’s tournaments, a record-tying number matched only by the 2024 season. This milestone reflects the tour’s commitment to expanding global participation and empowering female athletes in beach volleyball.

Global Reach and Structure

The tour made an impressive 56 stops across four continents, encompassing three competitive tiers:

  • Elite
  • Challenge
  • Futures

At the Elite level, 12 double-gender tournaments were organized—two more than in 2024. Each tournament employed a revamped format, hosting 24 teams per gender in the main draw, replacing the older Elite16 format.

Top Athletes and Highlights

Several standout performances defined the 2025 season. Among them:

  • American team Kristen Nuss and Taryn Brasher: 3 golds and 5 podium finishes.
  • Brazil’s Carol Solberg and Rebecca Cavalcanti: matched the Americans with 3 golds and 4 total medals.

The Challenge tier featured 7 tournaments for women, taking place in countries like Mexico, Türkiye, China, and Austria. Ukraine’s Marina Hladun and Tetiana Lazarenko emerged as breakout stars with a gold medal win in Warmia Mazury, boosting their profile ahead of their European championship success.

Futures Tier and Emerging Talent

The Futures level set participation records with 37 tournaments spanning 22 countries. These entry-level events highlight developing talent and promote global representation in the sport. Noteworthy developments include:

  • First-time host nations: Burundi and Cape Verde
  • France’s Anouk Dupin: podium finishes in all six events she entered
