Austrian and Sri Lankan teams have recently excelled in beach volleyball zonal competitions, showcasing the valuable influence of the FIVB Volleyball Empowerment initiative. In the MEVZA Beach Volleyball Tour held in Schladming, Austria, local teams captured five out of the six available medals. In the men's category, Timo Hammarberg & Tim Berger, Philipp Waller & Moritz Pristauz-Telsnigg, and Mathias Seiser & Christoph Dressler emerged as the dominating forces on the podium. For the women, Dorina Klinger & Ronja Klinger grabbed the gold, followed by Magdalena Rabitsch & Oleksandra Shkarupa with a silver medal.

The Austrian teams have been recipients of substantial support from the FIVB, receiving USD 168,000 for coaching and an additional USD 6,000 for programs aimed at sharing expertise.

Simultaneously, in the CAVA Beach Volleyball Tour in Thimphu, Bhutan, the Sri Lankan pair of Dileepa Senarathna & Sadun Madusanka Fernando triumphed with a gold medal in the Central Asian zone, overcoming the leading Indian teams. Their success was supported by the Sri Lanka Volleyball Federation with USD 10,500 in FIVB funding and assistance from Turkish coaches.

These accomplishments highlight the expanding global presence of beach volleyball and demonstrate the success of development programs in enhancing competition standards.
