Brazilian Duos Dominate Women's Beach Volleyball Rankings

Brazil has solidified its elite status in women's beach volleyball, with two of its teams now occupying the top positions in the latest FIVB World Ranking. The country’s dominance continues as they prepare for upcoming Olympic qualification events.

Thamela Coradello and Victoria Lopes maintain their number one position with 7,480 points, following a strong showing and a bronze medal at the 2024 Hamburg Elite16. Their consistent performance has allowed them to absorb the loss of older ranking points from last season.

Close behind, Carol Solberg and Rebecca Cavalcanti have achieved a significant milestone, reaching second place with 5,980 points—surpassing Germany’s Müller & Tillmann, who dropped to eighth after a loss of over 1,000 points. This rise marks a career-high ranking for the Brazilian duo.

Significant Movements in the Rankings

  • Switzerland’s Anouk Verge-Depre and Zoe Verge-Depre advanced to fourth place.
  • Italy’s Valentina Gottardi and Reka Orsi Toth climbed to seventh, their best-ever position.
  • Germany’s Müller & Tillmann saw a steep fall to eighth place.

The latest changes were largely influenced by expiring results and a relatively quiet competitive week on the tour, resulting in notable shifts within the top ten teams.

Global Talent in the Top Ten

The rest of the top ten rankings include high-performing teams from across the globe, such as:

  1. Latvia
  2. United States
  3. Austria
  4. Ukraine

These teams continue to challenge the leaders, intensifying the race as qualifications for Paris 2026 draw nearer.

Brazil’s commanding presence at the summit of the rankings not only highlights their national depth but also builds momentum heading into the next Olympic cycle.
