Kelly Cheng and Molly Shaw captured their first-ever medal together on the Volleyball World Beach Pro Tour by winning gold at the Elite16 event in Joao Pessoa, Brazil. The American duo delivered a stellar performance, defeating compatriots Terese Cannon and Megan Kraft in a straight-set victory (21-16, 21-17) during the all-American final.

Entering the tournament as the ninth seed, Cheng and Shaw showcased exceptional form throughout the week, winning all six of their matches. In the final, despite a slow start, their precision serving and control at the net shifted the momentum. Both players contributed equally with 16 points each, while Cheng added three aces and three critical blocks to secure the championship.

Terese Cannon and Megan Kraft, seeded eighth, earned the silver medal. Cannon led the scoring in the final with 17 points, securing the pair’s sixth podium appearance on the Beach Pro Tour.

On the home front, Brazilian Olympic champions Ana Patricia Ramos and Eduarda “Duda” Lisboa clinched the bronze medal, defeating fellow Brazilians Carol Solberg and Rebecca Cavalcanti in straight sets. This marks the pair’s fourth consecutive bronze and their 19th career medal on the tour.
