Clancy and Milutinovic Secure Quarterfinal Spot in Thrilling Beach Volleyball Matches

Taliqua Clancy and Jana Milutinovic have advanced to the quarterfinals of the Beach Pro Tour Challenge in Warmia Mazury, Poland—marking their most impressive performance of the 2025 season to date.

The Australian pair earned their spot in the final eight by securing two dramatic victories in elimination rounds on Friday. Both matches required all three sets to determine a winner:

  • They first overcame the Czech team of Mária-Sára Štochlová and Marketa Svozilova in a comeback 2-1 win (14-21, 21-15, 15-9).
  • Later, they mounted another comeback to defeat the Dutch duo Wies Bekhuis and Emi van Driel 2-1 (14-21, 21-18, 15-12).

This marks a milestone for the duo, who partnered at the beginning of the season. Clancy—a three-time Olympian and Tokyo silver medalist—teamed up with Milutinovic in 2025, and reaching the quarterfinals in Poland significantly improves upon their previous ninth-place result at the Yucatán Challenge in March.

Looking ahead, the Australians will face Americans Julia Donlin and Lexy Denaburg in the quarterfinal round on Saturday. The stakes are high, with both quarterfinal and semifinal matches occurring on the same day and medal matches set for Sunday.

The Warmia Mazury Challenge is an essential stop on the 2025 Beach Pro Tour, providing teams with key opportunities to accumulate points and build form heading into more significant international events.
