Czech Duo Lorenzova & Tomasova Strike Gold at Spiez Beach Volleyball Event

Czech beach volleyball duo Andrea Lorenzova and Mariana Tomasova have clinched the gold medal at the Spiez Futures tournament, marking their third podium finish in a row for the 2026 Beach Pro Tour season. In the delightful Swiss town of Spiez, they rose to the top after overcoming consistent challenges, including a nail-biting final against the USA's Torrey Van Winden and Lindsey Sparks. Before this gold, Lorenzova and Tomasova scored back-to-back silver medals in Apeldoorn and Cervia.

Facing strong competition from international teams, especially those from Austria and the USA, the Czech pair showcased resilience and strategic brilliance. Their skills were most evident during their semifinal triumph over Austria's Magdalena Rabitsch and Oleksandra Shkarupa.

This year, participants from 12 countries highlighted the global appeal and competitive nature of beach volleyball. Support from the Czech Volleyball Federation, backed by the FIVB Beach Volleyball Empowerment program, is showing positive results. The women's team is benefiting from Coach Sebastian Menegozzo's experience.

The Spiez Futures is one of many stops on the Beach Pro Tour, with future events planned for Ios, Greece, and Geneva, Switzerland. Athletes will continue competing as the sport of beach volleyball gains popularity around the globe.
