Dutch Duo Boermans & Brouwer Achieve Victory at Gstaad Elite Beach Volleyball Event

Dutch players Stefan Boermans and Alexander Brouwer celebrated an impressive victory in the men's category at the Gstaad Elite event on the Beach Volleyball Pro Tour. Representing the Netherlands with FIVB Volleyball Empowerment's backing, they clinched their first gold medal as a team early in their partnership.

Ranked eighth in the main draw, Boermans and Brouwer displayed remarkable resilience by recovering from an initial loss and then winning six straight matches. Their journey included intense three-set battles, culminating in a win over the American duo Trevor Crabb and Chase Budinger in the final.

For the women's competitions, the Dutch team of Katja Stam and Raisa Schoon continued their success by earning a bronze medal, breaking up what could have been an all-American podium. This marked their second consecutive podium finish, following a silver medal in Ostrava.

Strong performances were seen from American teams as well, including Kristen Cruz and Taryn Brasher, who excelled by claiming their third straight Gstaad Elite gold in the women's category.

Gstaad Elite stood out in the Beach Volleyball calendar, with participation from 32 men's and 32 women's teams from 20 different federations. The upcoming action shifts to the next Elite stop of the Beach Pro Tour in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, set for July 29 to August 2.
