FIVB's Bold Investment Fuels Beach Volleyball Teams for Adelaide 2025

A significant milestone has been reached in the world of beach volleyball, as 66% of national teams qualified for the FIVB Beach Volleyball World Championships 2025 in Adelaide are set to benefit from the FIVB’s Volleyball Empowerment initiative. This demonstrates the expanding reach and influence of the program in advancing international performance standards.

Out of the 96 teams set to compete—comprising 48 men’s and 48 women’s pairs from 40 nations—63 teams have received support. That includes 32 men’s and 31 women’s teams, a testament to FIVB's commitment to nurturing talent on a global scale.

The Championships, scheduled for 14–23 November, represent the 15th edition of this prestigious event. It will be the largest beach volleyball competition ever held under the Asian Volleyball Confederation and only the second staged in the Southern Hemisphere. Fans can look forward to a packed schedule of 216 matches across the 10-day event.

Empowerment Through Investment

Since its inception in 2017, the Volleyball Empowerment programme has:

  • Invested over USD 50 million
  • Supported more than 1,500 projects
  • Benefited 205 national federations

The support areas include:

  1. High-performance coaching
  2. Access to modern equipment
  3. Top-tier training venues

For teams preparing for the 2025 Championships, more than USD 7.5 million has been allocated, serving as a clear indicator of FIVB’s Strategic Vision 2032, which emphasizes inclusivity and sustainable development.

Beyond Competition

The upcoming World Championships aim not only to showcase elite athleticism but also to underscore the progress made through FIVB's global development initiatives. With a focus on sustainable growth and shared opportunity, the event is positioned as a benchmark in international volleyball excellence.
