French beach volleyball finds a new strength with Youssef Krou, a former Olympian, sharing his expert knowledge. Transitioning from an impressive career as a player to a coach, Krou now shapes young talents. At the 2026 FIVB Beach Volleyball U18 World Championship in The Hague, Dutch youths benefit from his extensive experience.

Krou retired after competing in the Paris 2024 Olympic Games. His career covered over ten years, marked by winning 12 international medals. Now, he pours his expertise into coaching, concentrating on growing French youth beach volleyball teams.

His method combines gameplay experience with technical prowess, preparing young athletes for the pressures of competition. This approach is effective. The French boys' team, with 17-year-old Adrien Bezu and 16-year-old Quentin Hypolyte, made it to the main draw of the U18 World Championship. Their consecutive three-win streak in the men's qualifications demonstrates Krou’s influence.

Beginning with guiding senior women’s teams through the FIVB Volleyball Empowerment program, Krou led Clemence Vieira & Aline Chamereau to a historic European Championship silver in 2025.
