Get Ready for the U18 Beach Volleyball Showdown in Doha

The U18 Beach Volleyball World Championship has officially begun in Doha, Qatar, marking its return with a historic debut in the Middle East. Taking place from October 7 to 11, the tournament introduces a fresh audience to the excitement of youth beach volleyball on the global stage.

This year’s event hosts 64 teams—split evenly between 32 men's and 32 women's pairs—from a total of 55 nations. The venue, Al Gharafa Beach Courts, sets the stage for thrilling matches starting with a qualification round on October 7. Here, 24 teams will compete for four available spots in the main draw.

Once the main draw is set, the competition structure includes:

  • Eight pools of four teams each
  • Top three teams from each pool advancing to the knockout stage

Highlighted by powerhouse teams from around the globe:

  • Brazil with reigning South American champions
  • Germany sending top European medalists
  • Elite entries from the United States, Qatar, Africa, and Asia

All five continental confederations are represented, demonstrating the global growth and diversity of the sport. Pool matches run through October 8–9, followed by elimination rounds on October 10. The gold, silver, and bronze medals will be contested and awarded on October 11.

More than just a competition, this championship marks a significant milestone, positioning youth players on an international platform and expanding the reach of beach volleyball worldwide.
