Gonzalez & Navas Strike Gold Again at NORCECA Beach Volleyball Tour

Maria Gonzalez and Allanis Navas of Puerto Rico continue to dominate the 2025 NORCECA Beach Volleyball Tour, clinching gold at its 10th stop in Managua, Nicaragua. This victory marks their seventh title in just eight appearances, solidifying their position as one of North America’s top women’s beach volleyball duos.

Despite an earlier pool-play defeat to Mexico’s Susana Torres and Atenas Gutierrez, Gonzalez and Navas bounced back to beat the same team convincingly in the final with a 2-0 scoreline (21-15, 21-18). Their semifinal path included a tough win over Team USA's Katherine Reilly and Maya Gessner.

Tournament highlights included:

  • Silver: Torres and Gutierrez earned their fifth second-place finish of the season.
  • Bronze: Team USA's Reilly and Gessner defeated Canada’s Devin Corah and Tiadora Miric.

On the men's side, El Salvador’s Yoel and Christopher Guardado celebrated their first NORCECA gold after edging Mexico’s Miguel Sarabia and Antonio Lares 2-0 (21-19, 22-20). Canada's Luke de Greeff and Martin Licht claimed bronze, marking their fourth top-three finish this season.

The event featured a total of 32 teams—16 men’s and 16 women’s pairs—from 16 countries across the region, contributing to the NORCECA Tour’s mission of providing international match experience for Olympic hopefuls.

The final stop of the tour will take place in Juan Dolio, Dominican Republic, scheduled for December 12–14, wrapping up what has been a dynamic and competitive season.
