Latvia made history at the 2025 Beach Volleyball World Championships in Adelaide, Australia, as Tina Graudina and Anastasija Samoilova claimed the nation's first-ever gold medal in the event. This monumental win also marks the first time a Latvian team—male or female—has ever reached the podium at the championships.
Unbeatable from Start to Finish
The Latvian duo showcased dominance throughout the tournament, remaining undefeated in their first seven matches without losing a single set. In the semifinals, they delivered a commanding performance by defeating Brazil’s top-seeded team, Thamela Coradello and Victoria Lopes, in straight sets.
The final was a gripping contest against the United States' Kristen Nuss and Taryn Brasher. Graudina and Samoilova triumphed in a three-set thriller (21-15, 15-21, 15-11) to secure the gold.
