Latvian Teams Dominate CEV Beach Volley Nations Cup at Home Turf

Latvia's national beach volleyball teams demonstrated exceptional skill and teamwork at the CEV Beach Volley Nations Cup held in Riga. Their impressive performance assured them spots in the upcoming finals set to take place in Budapest, Hungary, this July.

With backing from the FIVB Volleyball Empowerment program, Latvia benefited from $210,000 allocated for coaching and $5,500 dedicated to equipment. This support was critical, alongside the efforts of coaches Arnis Relins, Genadijs Samoilovs, Daniel Rodriguez Wood, and Sandris Andrejevs, in propelling the teams to success.

Women's Pool D

In the women's Pool D, Latvia faced off with Bulgaria, Italy, and Portugal. The pair of Tina Graudina and Anastasija Samoilova set a robust example with a straightforward 2-0 win over Italy, maintaining an undefeated status throughout the matches.

Men's Pool C

The men's team in Pool C competed against Croatia, Slovenia, and Denmark. Players Edgars Tocs, Gustavs Auzins, Martins Plavins, and Kristians Fokerots led Latvia to victory. Despite losing a single set to Denmark, they succeeded in securing the top position with consistently strong performances.

The momentum of the CEV Beach Volley Nations Cup continues with upcoming matches in Constanta, Romania, on May 23 and 24, promising to further the excitement of this engaging beach volleyball series.
