Lorenzova and Tomasova Strike Gold at Spiez Beach Volleyball Event

The Czech beach volleyball duo, Andrea Lorenzova and Mariana Tomasova, clinched the gold medal at the Spiez Futures, marking their third podium finish in a row on the Volleyball World Beach Pro Tour 2026. Held in Spiez, Switzerland, the tournament saw Lorenzova and Tomasova reach the top after previous silver medals in Apeldoorn and Cervia.

The Czech team displayed resilience, winning all five matches. They captured victory in four matches with tie-breaker third sets. In the semifinals, they defeated Austria's Magdalena Rabitsch and Oleksandra Shkarupa in straight sets before pulling off a thrilling 2-1 win over America's Torrey Van Winden and Lindsey Sparks in the finals.

Van Winden and Sparks made an impression as well. They reached the finals with four straight-set victories, including a significant win against the top-seeded Swiss team in the semifinals, claiming the silver medal. Austria's Rabitsch and Shkarupa secured the bronze, overcoming the host country's team in the third-place match.

Twenty-four women's teams from 12 countries participated, showcasing the competitive spirit of beach volleyball at the Spiez Futures. The tour moves forward with upcoming Futures stops in:

  • Geneva, Switzerland (women only)
  • Karpacz, Poland (men only) from June 18 to 21
