Olympic gold medalists David Åhman and Jonatan Hellvig of Sweden have reclaimed the number one position in the FIVB Beach Volleyball World Rankings. The Swedish duo surged ahead after accumulating 760 points with a fifth-place finish at the Elite16 event in Quintana Roo, Mexico, bringing their total to 7,320 points. Their return to the top comes despite missing the semifinals for a second consecutive tournament.
Germany’s Clemens Wickler and Nils Ehlers, who previously held the lead, did not participate in Mexico and remain at 6,680 points, allowing the Swedes to pass them in the standings.
