Thailand Shines with Double Gold at Hangzhou Beach Volleyball Event

Thailand made a remarkable achievement at the Hangzhou Futures event on the Volleyball World Beach Pro Tour by securing double gold in both the women's and men's tournaments. The competition concluded on a high note on Sunday in China, underscoring Thailand's prowess in Beach Volleyball.

In the men’s category, the seventh-seeded Thai team, comprising Netitorn Muneekul and Poravid Taovato, put forth an impeccable performance, clinching victory by winning every set in all five matches. They achieved their first gold as a team, triumphing over Iran’s Abbas Pourasgari and Alireza Aghajanighasab in a thrilling final. Meanwhile, another Thai team, Wachirawit Muadpha and Pithak Tipjan, claimed the bronze by defeating China's Liu Yuan and Mao Yuan, marking their second podium finish in the tour.

On the women’s front, the Thai pair Taravadee Naraphornrapat and Worapeerachayakorn Kongphopsarutawadee also clinched the gold medal. The fifth-seeded duo maintained an unbeaten streak, overcoming the challenge from Chinese finalists Jiang Kaiyue and Dong Jie in a fiercely contested three-set match. Additionally, local teams tasted success, with Yu Tong and Qi Siyu earning bronze by besting the Japanese team of Sakura Ito and Miki Ishii.

This competition attracted 28 male and 24 female teams from 19 federations, showcasing the global enthusiasm and competition in Beach Volleyball. The Beach Pro Tour continues with upcoming events in Rzeszow, Poland, and Messina, Italy, scheduled for July 2 to 5. These accomplishments further solidify Thailand's reputation as a formidable force in international Beach Volleyball.
