Young African athletes demonstrated their emerging talent at recent junior zonal beach volleyball tournaments across the continent, with notable achievements from Morocco, Cape Verde, and Senegal.

Standout Performances in Zone 1 U16 Tour

At the CAVB Zone 1 Under-16 Tour in Rabat, Moroccan teams impressed spectators and competitors alike:

  • Girls’ Division: Ghita Melalka and Hafsa Bouysfi earned silver after a close final against Algeria’s Dyna Saheb and Meriem Tilmatine.
  • Boys’ Division: Othman Byadi and Mohammed El Biary took bronze with a straight-set win over Libya.

Highlights from Zone 2 U18 Tour

In the Zone 2 Under-18 Tour hosted in Sal, Cape Verde, the competition remained fierce:

  • Home team duo Lucas Guilherme Leads Dos Santos and Leandro Maurício Dias De Pina claimed silver following a final loss to Sierra Leone.
  • Senegal’s Mouhamed Moustapha Sedibe and Amadou Thiam secured bronze, rebounding from a semifinal defeat to overcome another Cape Verdean pair.

Pathway to the African Youth Games
