Brazil Makes a Breakthrough in the Men’s Competition

Brazil’s Mateus Rodrigues and Vilsomar Brito delivered a remarkable performance by winning their first Beach Pro Tour title. Entering the event as 16th seeds and emerging from the qualifiers, they proved their mettle by winning seven of eight matches. The championship match was a hard-fought 2-1 victory over Indonesia’s Bintang Akbar and Sofyan Rachman Efendi, with scores of 19-21, 21-15, 17-15.

The Brazilian duo also defeated Australia’s Garang Anyang and Justin Schumann in the semifinals, marking a significant achievement in their professional careers.

China Dominates the Women’s Bracket

China’s presence in the women’s tournament was commanding, as they swept the podium:

  • Cao Shuting and Dong Jie claimed gold with an unbeaten record, triumphing over compatriots Yuan Lvwen and Zhu Lingdi in the final (21-19, 21-14).
