Brazil Dominates South American Beach Volleyball Finals in Chile

Brazil asserted its dominance in beach volleyball by taking home both the men's and women's titles at the 2025 South American Tour Finals, held in Iquique, Chile. The tournament served as the final stop for the season and provided valuable preparation and ranking points for teams eyeing Olympic qualification.

Brazilian Teams Go Undefeated

In the women’s division, Olympic veterans Carol Salgado and Rebecca Cavalcanti triumphed over fellow Brazilians Thamela Coradello and Victoria Lopes in a tightly contested three-set final (21-13, 18-21, 15-8). Carol and Rebecca completed a flawless five-match streak to earn the gold medal.

Paraguay’s duo, Michelle Valiente and Giuliana Poletti, already qualified for Paris 2024, secured the bronze medal by defeating Fio Nunez and Denisse Alvarez in straight sets.

Men's Final: Brazil vs. Argentina

On the men's side, Evandro Gonçalves and Arthur Lanci dominated Argentine Olympians Nicolas and Tomas Capogrosso in straight sets (21-19, 21-16), never losing a set throughout the tournament. This result confirmed Brazil's clean sweep of the gold medals.

Bronze was claimed by Chilean veterans Marco and Esteban Grimalt, who narrowly beat their compatriots Vicente Droguett and Fernando Quintero in a thrilling tiebreak match.

Regional Strength and Olympic Momentum

The Finals featured 15 women’s and 12 men’s teams representing ten different South American countries. As the last major continental event before Olympic qualification intensifies, the competition was not only prestigious but also strategic.

Brazil’s dual victories highlight their consistency and depth, reinforcing their place as a global powerhouse in beach volleyball.
