Coolangatta Hosts Thrilling Australian Beach Volleyball Finals Ahead of Pro Tour

Coolangatta hosted the Finals of the 2024-2025 Australian Beach Volleyball Tour this past weekend, setting the stage for the upcoming Beach Pro Tour Futures event.

Men’s Competition

Second-seeded Paul Burnett and Luke Ryan secured the national title with a commanding straight-set victory (21-15, 21-18) over top-seeded Jack Pearse and D’Artagnan Potts. The bronze medal went to Mateusz Zieba and Daniele Di Stefano, who triumphed over Justin Schumann and Garang Anyang in the third-place match.

Women’s Competition

The women's tournament also saw an upset, as second-seeded Americans Alaina Chacon and Morgan Chacon defeated Australia’s top-seeded Georgia Johnson and Elizabeth Alchin in two competitive sets (21-19, 21-18). Another American duo, Delaney Peranich and Kaeli Crews, secured bronze with a hard-fought three-set victory against Tara Phillips and Cameron Zajer.

Looking Ahead

With the national championships wrapped up, attention now shifts to the international stage. Coolangatta will soon welcome elite competitors for the Beach Pro Tour Futures event, promising more high-level action in the coming days.
