Crabb and Benesh Dominate Their Debut Day in Brazil

American beach volleyball duo Taylor Crabb and Andy Benesh delivered an impressive performance on their debut day at the Volleyball World Beach Pro Tour in João Pessoa, Brazil. Starting as new partners, they secured two victories without dropping a set, advancing smoothly to the Round of 16.

Their strong start included a straight-set win (21-19, 21-16) against the Australian Olympians, Izac Carracher and Mark Nicolaidis. They continued their successful run with a decisive victory over Brazilian players Vinicius Freitas and Heitor Benitto (21-9, 21-18).

This remarkable beginning signals a promising partnership for Crabb and Benesh, who teamed up in January 2026. On Friday, they're set to face a potentially more challenging match against Sweden's Jacob Hölting Nilsson and Elmer Andersson, the silver medalists from the FIVB Beach Volleyball World Championships, who also won their opening matches.

Other standout performances include Taylor Crabb’s brother, Trevor, who alongside his partner Robert Harrison, remains undefeated in Pool F. They have overcome both the Americans, Evans and Budinger, and Argentina's Capogrosso brothers.

The tournament continues Friday as teams compete for positions in the subsequent rounds. With several matches left to decide the final pool standings, the competition highlights the talent and unpredictability of beach volleyball this season.
