Ehlers, who had previously won a silver medal at the Paris 2024 Olympics, achieved this feat with Lui Wust in only their third outing together on the tour circuit. Their victory in Hamburg follows a bronze medal finish at the Shangluo Challenge, underscoring their rapid rise in Beach Volleyball.

In an exciting final, Ehlers and Wust overcame the reigning European champions Anders Mol and Christian Sorum from Norway.
