They didn't compete in the semifinals in Rio, but Oliveira and Lanci showed consistency, holding their score steady with a strategic approach to point accumulation. Latvia's Martins Plavins and Kristians Fokerots made headlines by winning at the Rio Elite, climbing to fourth place in global rankings. Others also moved up, including France’s Teo Rotar and Arnaud Gauthier-Rat, and Brazil’s Andre Stein and Renato Lima, achieving new personal bests internationally.

In women's volleyball, the rankings saw smaller shifts. However, a win in Rio boosted the Netherlands' Katja Stam and Raisa Schoon to fourth place.
