Germany’s Svenja Müller and Cinja Tillmann secured the women's gold medal at the Cape Town Elite16, a key event on the 2025 Volleyball World Beach Pro Tour. They maintained an unbeaten streak across six matches, dropping only a single set along the way.
The Cape Town competition, renowned for attracting elite-level talent, saw Müller & Tillmann display exceptional composure and skill. They decisively defeated Dutch duo Katja Stam and Raisa Schoon in straight sets, 2-0 (21-17, 25-23), underlining their dominance especially during a tightly contested second set. This victory marked their third career Beach Pro Tour title, complementing an already strong record of:
- 3 silver medals
- 2 bronze medals
Stam & Schoon showcased resilience by advancing from the qualification rounds to eventually claim silver. This achievement brings their total Beach Pro Tour podium finishes to ten.
Meanwhile, in the bronze medal match, Germany’s Sandra Ittlinger and Anna-Lena Grüne demonstrated grit by overcoming Latvia’s Tina Graudina and Anastasija Samoilova in a three-set battle: 2-1 (17-21, 21-15, 15-9). This win marks Ittlinger and Grüne’s first-ever podium finish at the Elite16 level.
The Cape Town Elite16 not only highlighted standout performances but also amplified the stakes in the ongoing Beach Pro Tour calendar. Outcomes here could significantly shape future team seedings and momentum as the international season intensifies.
