Estonia’s Liisa Remmelg and Heleene Hollas achieved a major milestone by capturing their first Beach Pro Tour gold at the 2025 Wuhan Qingshan Futures. Having previously secured five silver medals, they finally broke through, remaining unbeaten in five matches. Their determination was rewarded with a hard-fought 2-1 victory over Thailand’s Tanarattha Udomchavee and Rumpaipruet Numwong in the championship final.
In the women’s bracket, Majabelle Lawac and Sherysyn Toko of Vanuatu claimed the bronze medal. After a loss in the semifinals, they bounced back to defeat China’s Lin MeiMei and Xie Hong in a three-set thriller for third place.
The men’s competition also provided thrilling moments. Slovakia’s Lubos Nemec and Adrian Petruf extended their perfect run in 2025 by clinching a straight-sets victory over England’s Frederick Bialokoz and Issa Batrane in the gold medal match. They add this win to their previous triumph at the Nuvali Futures, maintaining an unblemished record this season.
China secured its place on the men’s podium as well. Wu Jiaxin and Zhou Chaowei took the bronze after Hungary’s Bence Streli and Domonkos Doczi were forced to withdraw due to injury.
