Lithuania made a notable impression at the 2025 Beach Pro Tour Baden Challenge, emerging as the only nation to qualify two women’s teams from the preliminary rounds into the main draw.
The event kicked off in Baden, Austria, with the qualification rounds taking place on Tuesday. Lithuanian squads Daniele Kvedaraite/Jekaterina Kovalskaja and Monika Paulikiene/Aine Raupelyte both advanced to the main draw after winning their respective matches.
- Kvedaraite and Kovalskaja prevailed over Austria’s Bauer/Haselsteiner in a three-set battle, then defeated Slovenia’s Kotnik/Marolt in straight sets.
- Paulikiene and Raupelyte, fresh from their appearance at the Paris Olympics, broke a ten-match losing streak on the Beach Pro Tour by clinching back-to-back wins, including a dominant performance over Hungary’s Kun/Villám.
Two additional Lithuanian pairs entered the qualifiers but did not advance:
- Dumbauskaite/Grudzinskaite reached the second round before being eliminated.
- Vasiliauskaite/Kliokmanaite were knocked out in the opening round.
Joining Lithuania in the main draw are teams from Switzerland, Ukraine, Spain, Australia, and Poland. Pool play is set to begin Wednesday, continuing through the weekend at the picturesque Thermalstrandbad Baden venue. The event is part of the competitive 2025 Beach Pro Tour schedule, bringing together elite international talent.
