Kristen Nuss and Taryn Brasher have claimed a significant victory for the United States by securing their first gold medal of the 2025 Beach Pro Tour. The American duo triumphed at the Elite16 event in Brasília, defeating Brazil's Carol Solberg and Rebecca Cavalcanti in a hard-fought final.
In a tightly contested match, Nuss and Brasher delivered a straight-set win of 22-20, 21-19, earning their ninth career gold medal. This victory marks their first top-podium finish since their success at the 2024 Tour Finals in Doha. Prior to this, they had already shown strong form in the season with a bronze medal in Quintana Roo and a silver in Saquarema.
Brasher proved to be the standout performer in the final, scoring 24 total points, including 20 kills and 3 blocks, which was instrumental in the duo's win. The match was played in front of an energetic home crowd, adding further intensity to an already close contest.
