Swedish Rising Stars Face Off Against Qatari Veterans in Gstaad Beach Volleyball Finale

The Beach Pro Tour Elite16 men's final in Gstaad is poised for a compelling showdown as Sweden’s youthful duo Jacob Hölting Nilsson and Elmer Andersson go head-to-head against veteran Qatari Olympians Cherif Younousse and Ahmed Tijan.

The Swedish pair, aged just 20 and 19, have quickly made waves on the tour. As the reigning U22 European champions, they have won six of their seven matches in the tournament. Their impressive run includes dominant wins in straight sets over both Brazilian pairs qualified for the upcoming Paris 2024 Olympics.

Meanwhile, Cherif and Ahmed bring a wealth of experience to the court. The duo claimed a bronze medal at the Tokyo Olympics and finished as runners-up in Gstaad in 2021. Their journey to this year’s final included convincing victories over two formidable Dutch teams during the knockout stages.

The much-anticipated final will take place at 15:00 local time (13:00 GMT) in the picturesque Swiss Alps. Prior to the gold medal match, Brazil's André/George will face the Netherlands’ Boermans/de Groot in the bronze medal playoff at 13:00 local time (11:00 GMT).
