The recent Xiamen Challenge on the Beach Pro Tour highlighted the rising talents of various international beach volleyball teams, benefiting from the FIVB Volleyball Empowerment program. Teams from Lithuania, Australia, France, and Belgium stood out by securing silver and bronze medals, underscoring the significant impact of this initiative.
In the women's competition, Lithuanian athletes Monika Paulikiene and Aine Raupelyte performed impressively, earning a silver medal. The French duo, Lezana Placette and Alexia Richard, also delivered strong performances, securing a bronze medal. In the men's events, Australian team members D'Artagnan Potts and Jack Pearse claimed silver, while Belgium's Kyan Vercauteren and Joppe Van Langendonck captured bronze.
The Xiamen Challenge also marked notable achievements for the United States and Israel, with teams from these nations winning the gold medals. American duo Alexis Durish and Audrey Koenig continued their winning streak in the women's category, and in the men’s competition, Israel’s Eylon Elazar and Kevin Cuzmiciov achieved their first-ever gold at the Challenge level.
The event saw participation from 47 women’s and 58 men’s teams, representing 30 different federations. As anticipation builds for the next Beach Pro Tour event in the Philippines, the Xiamen Challenge emphasizes the increasing competitiveness and talent in international beach volleyball, supported significantly by the FIVB’s Empowerment program.
