Young Beach Volleyball Stars Shine in Puebla U21 Championships

Eight standout duos have advanced directly to the eighthfinals of the 2025 FIVB U21 Beach Volleyball World Championships in Puebla, Mexico. These teams topped their respective pools during the preliminary phase and now move straight into the second elimination round, bypassing the sixteenthfinals altogether.

Top Performers in Pool Play

Czechia’s Katerina and Anna Pavelkova impressed by clinching Pool A with a straight-set victory over local favorites Naomi Cruz and Angelica Torres of Mexico. The United States also performed strongly, as:

  • Zoey Henson and Sarah Wood won Pool B
  • Sally Perez and Avery Jackson, who entered as qualifiers, came from behind to take Pool C

The six other pool-topping duos who will skip the first knockout round are:

  • Hungary: Chiara Honti-Majoros and Stefania Kun
  • Canada: Ruby Sorra and Ofure Odigie
  • Netherlands: Floor Hogenhout and Mila Konink

Sixteen other teams that placed second and third in their pools will compete in Saturday’s sixteenthfinals. These matches are critical, as they will determine the final eight pairs to join the already-qualified teams in the eighthfinals. Match play resumes at 09:00 local time in Cholula.
