Olympians and Rising Stars Claim Victory at Sanya Beach Volleyball Pro Tour

Japanese Olympian Miki Ishii and her partner Mayu Kikuchi have clinched the gold medal in the women's category at the Sanya Futures, part of the Volleyball World Beach Pro Tour. Held in Sanya, China, Ishii, a Tokyo 2020 and Paris 2024 Olympian, and Kikuchi concluded their tournament with an impressive 5-1 record. They prevailed over local team Yu Tong and Qi Siyu in the final, securing their win with a 2-0 sweep.

In the men's category, Germany's Niklas Held and Luis Kubo seized victory, advancing from qualifications to the top of the podium. Their exceptional performance ended with a hard-fought 2-1 win over Sweden's Theodor Grahn and Linus Isaksson in the final. This marks a notable debut for the German pair on the Beach Pro Tour.

The event saw fierce competition, with teams from 14 different countries taking part. Alongside the Japanese and German champions, medals were also claimed by teams from China, Sweden, and Poland. Upcoming stages of the Beach Pro Tour will be in Coolangatta, Australia, and Haikou, China.
