Veracruz, Mexico and Itapema, Brazil are now confirmed hosts for the 2025 Beach Pro Tour, adding momentum to the global beach volleyball calendar.
Veracruz Challenge: A Crucial Stop Before the World Championships
The Veracruz Challenge will run from October 1–5, presenting teams a final opportunity to earn qualification points for the 2025 FIVB Beach Volleyball World Championships set to take place in Adelaide.
- 32 men’s and 32 women’s teams will participate in the qualification draw.
- The same number will compete in the main draw.
- The event offers a prize pool of USD 250,000.
This marks Veracruz’s role in Mexico’s third Tour stop of the season, following tournaments in Puerto Progreso and Playa del Carmen.
Elite Competition Returns to Itapema
The Itapema Elite event is scheduled for December 3–7. It replaces a stop originally planned for Doha and brings top-tier beach volleyball back to the coastal city for the first time since 2023.
- 16 teams per gender will compete in the qualification rounds.
- 24 teams per gender will battle in the main draw.
- Players will compete for a total prize pool of USD 400,000.
Itapema is now one of five Brazilian cities to host an Elite event on the 2025 tour, alongside Saquarema, Brasília, João Pessoa, and Rio de Janeiro.
