Olympic Champs Duda and Ana Patrícia Make Bold Return to Beach Pro Tour

Brazilian beach volleyball stars Eduarda ‘Duda’ Lisboa and Ana Patrícia Ramos return to international competition at the Quintana Roo Elite event in Mexico. This marks their first Beach Pro Tour appearance since the 2023 Gstaad Elite event following their Olympic gold medal victory in Paris over seven months ago.

Ana Patrícia’s back injury delayed their comeback, causing them to miss events in Brazil late last year. Now, they start the 2025 Beach Pro Tour season ranked 33rd globally and seeded fifth for the tournament in Playa del Carmen. Their competition includes:

  • Fellow Brazilians Thamela Coradello and Victoria Lopes
  • American duo Kristen Nuss and Taryn Brash

Off the court, the pair now train under Iago Hercowitz after Lucas Palermo departed to coach the Netherlands’ women’s team. Additionally, the tournament introduces an expanded format, increasing the main draw to 24 teams per gender, up from 16.

The event runs from Wednesday to Sunday and also features the men’s Paris Olympic champions, David Åhman and Jonatan Hellvig of Sweden, making their season debut.
