Spain's dynamic beach volleyball duo, Daniela Álvarez Mendoza and Tania Moreno Matveeva, are set to showcase their growing potential at the upcoming 2025 FIVB Beach Volleyball World Championships in Adelaide, Australia. Scheduled from 14–23 November, this premier event will take place at The Drive and Pinky Flat/Tarntanya Wama, venues that promise a vibrant atmosphere for one of the sport’s biggest stages.
Despite their youth—both just 23—the pair have already made waves in international volleyball. Highlights of their journey include:
- Quarterfinal finish at the Paris 2024 Olympic Games
- Silver medal at the 2023 European Championship
- Participation at the 2023 World Championships in Mexico
Now facing Pool G opponents, Dani & Tania will begin their campaign against Lithuania’s Monika Paulikiene and Aine Raupelyte on 14 November. They’ll next encounter host nation favorites Jasmine Fleming and Stefanie Fejes on 15 November, followed by a high-stakes match with Americans Molly Shaw and Olympic champion Kelly Cheng on 16 November. The group stage format advances the top two teams, along with the best third-placed teams and "lucky losers," into the knockouts.
Their steady rise reflects strategic improvements driven by Brazilian coach Marco Pires Albuquerque Stanzani. Under the FIVB Volleyball Empowerment program, Spain’s national team has enhanced its technical depth, supporting Dani & Tania’s transition into legitimate contenders on the world tour.
