The Volleyball World Beach Pro Tour's 2026 Tlaxcala Challenge is witnessing a thrilling development as an all-Australian semifinal face-off takes center stage. Mark Nicolaidis and Izac Carracher are set to compete against their fellow Australians D'Artagnan Potts and Jack Pearse, with both teams striving for a coveted spot in the final.
Potts and Pearse have impressively made it through a challenging path to reach their first Challenge-level semifinal. They defeated higher-seeded Swiss opponents in the eighthfinals and quarterfinals with successive 2-1 victories, showcasing their determination and expert play.
Meanwhile, Nicolaidis and Carracher, fresh from competing in Paris 2024, progressed to the semifinals after benefiting from a forfeit in the eighthfinals, followed by a decisive win against American qualifiers Cody Caldwell and Jacob La Bouliere.
In the other semifinal, the American duo of Timothy Brewster and Logan Webber, buoyant after victories against higher-ranked U.S. opponents and the Netherlands’ Leon Luini & Matthew Immers, face off against the Argentine brothers Tomas and Nicolas Capogrosso. The Capogrosso siblings have been dominant, standing as the highest-seeded team remaining in the competition following their impressive performances on Saturday.
The showdown between Nicolaidis/Carracher and Potts/Pearse will kick off the final day of action in Tlaxcala. Fans can expect thrilling matches, which will be available for viewing on the Beach Volleyball World YouTube channel, providing an opportunity to witness top-tier beach volleyball at its finest.
