Austria’s Laurenc Grossig and Mathias Seiser, along with Ukraine’s Yeva Serdiuk and Daria Romaniuk, seized the spotlight at the 2025 Sveti Vlas Beach Volleyball Futures, earning gold medals in dominant fashion. The event, hosted along Bulgaria’s picturesque Black Sea coastline, marked a key highlight on the Volleyball World Beach Pro Tour.

Men’s Tournament Highlights

The third-seeded Austrian duo of Grossig and Seiser delivered a flawless performance, not losing a single set throughout the tournament. They claimed the title with a commanding 2-0 (21-14, 21-10) win over Serbia’s Djordje Klasnic and Marko Makaric in the final. Prior to that, they secured a semifinal victory over Italy’s Tiziano Andreatta and Davide Benzi in straight sets.

Women’s Tournament Highlights

Ukraine's Serdiuk and Romaniuk mirrored the Austrians’ feat, storming through the women's bracket. In an all-Ukrainian final, they triumphed 2-0 (21-12, 21-19) against top seeds Valentyna Davidova and Anhelina Khmil, earning their third Beach Pro Tour gold medal.

Bronze Medal Matches

  • Men’s bronze: Bulgaria's Dimitar Mehandzhiyski and Dimitar Kalchev captured their nation's first-ever Beach Pro Tour medal with a 2-1 (23-21, 17-21, 15-12) win over Italy’s Andreatta and Benzi.
  • Women’s bronze: Spain’s Sofia Izuzquiza and Ana Vergara celebrated their first podium finish, defeating Germany's Sarah Schulz and Josefine Schakel 2-1 (21-18, 18-21, 15-10).

A Global Stage

This year’s Sveti Vlas Futures brought together 26 men’s and 27 women’s teams from a total of 24 countries, emphasizing the sport’s global growth. With four more Futures tournaments scheduled this week across China, Latvia, Poland, and Sweden, the Beach Pro Tour continues to elevate competition and visibility for up-and-coming talent.
