Brazilian beach volleyball stars Carol Solberg and Rebecca Cavalcanti have captured the top spot in the FIVB Beach Volleyball World Ranking following their gold-medal performance at the Itapema Elite16, a part of the Volleyball World Beach Pro Tour.
Their victory earned them 1,200 ranking points. Factoring in the replacement of a previous lower-scoring result, they effectively added 440 points to their total, reaching 8,440 points. This tally places them 200 points ahead of fellow Brazilians Thamela Coradello and Victoria Lopes, who rose to second place after taking bronze in Itapema.
Ranking Shifts Among the Elite
- American pair Kristen Nuss and Taryn Kloth dropped to third after missing the final event of the 2025 season.

This is the first time Solberg and Cavalcanti have been ranked number one together. Notably, Solberg had previously reached this milestone in early 2025 with Barbara Seixas, while Cavalcanti’s best before this was second in the world with Agatha Bednarczuk.
