Capogrosso Brothers Shine with Second Consecutive Elite16 Silver Finish

The Capogrosso brothers, Nicolás and Tomás, continue to make waves on the Beach Pro Tour, capturing their second consecutive silver medal at the Elite16 tournament. Their latest success came at the 2025 season opener in Quintana Roo, Mexico, following a runner-up finish in Rio de Janeiro in late 2024.

Currently ranked sixth in the world, the Argentine pair demonstrated resilience throughout the tournament:

  • Secured four match victories, including a critical semifinal win over Americans Chaim Schalk and James Shaw.
  • Faced only two losses: a narrow group-stage defeat to the Dutch team of Alexander Brouwer and Steven van de Velde, and a straight-set loss in the final to Cuba’s Noslen Díaz and Jorge Alayo (21-13, 24-22).

This back-to-back podium performance builds on their strong momentum from 2024 when the brothers finished fourth and fifth in João Pessoa and Hamburg, respectively. Their breakout came in Rio with their first top-three finish on the Elite16 stage.

Looking ahead, the Capogrossos will compete at the Elite16 event in Saquarema, Brazil. Their recent performance positions them as strong contenders in the upcoming 2025 World Championships and the ongoing Olympic qualification process.
