Teams supported by the FIVB Volleyball Empowerment programme dominated the men's podium at the second leg of the 2025 WAVA West Asian Beach Volleyball Tour, held in Amman, Jordan. This performance is a testament to the growing influence of FIVB's investment in developing high-performance volleyball across West Asia.
Men’s Medals: Oman and Qatar on Top
Oman’s Mazin Alhashmi and Hood Al Jalaboubi claimed gold, delivering a flawless performance throughout the tournament. They defeated the Qatari pair Mahdi Badreddin Sammoud and Mohamed Ihab Zaki 2-0 in the final, with scores of 21-18, 21-18.
Qatar also secured the bronze medal through Saifeddine Binaziz Elmajid and Assam Ahmed Mahmoud, who defeated Lebanon’s duo, Jad Abi Karam and Hadi El Chabib, with a dominant 2-0 (21-12, 21-11) result.
FIVB Volleyball Empowerment Support
Both Oman and Qatar have received CHF 72,000 in funding from the FIVB Empowerment programme to support coaching staff:
- Oman works with Iranian coach Amirhossein Esmaeilzadeh.
- Qatar benefits from the guidance of Argentine coach Pablo Bernardi.
In addition, Qatar received CHF 9,500 specifically for beach volleyball equipment upgrades.
Women’s Tournament: Jordan Rises on Home Sand
Jordan came out on top in the women’s division, with Ragad Haimur and Ghayd Alashoush narrowly defeating compatriots Rahaf Haimour and Shahed Al Awamleh 2-1 in a tough final match. Saudi Arabia’s Dana Albuainain Mohammad and Nadeen Alkhateeb earned the bronze medal after falling to the eventual winners in the semifinals.

The event showcased talent from six countries:
