Hungarian beach volleyball team Domonkos Doczi and Akos Veress marked their Volleyball World Beach Pro Tour debut with an impressive win at the Rarotonga Futures event. This tournament, held in the Cook Islands, is part of the Beach Pro Tour 2026 Futures series. They secured the gold medal with a commanding straight-sets victory, 21-6, 21-15, against the American players Charles Siragusa and Alex Ukkelberg.
This win adds to Doczi's previous gold from the 2024 Qingdao Futures. For the 19-year-old Veress, it is his first podium finish. The competition included 24 teams from nine federations, showcasing the global appeal and spirit of beach volleyball.
The American duo, who teamed up for the first time, earned the silver medal. Siragusa previously won a bronze at the 2023 Coolangatta Futures, while Ukkelberg celebrates his first tour medal.
Canada's team, Steven Abrams and Cameron Chadwick, captured bronze after a strong performance in the semifinals, winning against the Australian players Finley Bennett and James Kay.
