Iranian Beach Volleyball Talent GhalehNovi Gains Valuable Experience at U21 Championships

Iranian beach volleyball duo AmirAli GhalehNovi and Habib Naseri made a notable impact at the 2025 FIVB U21 Beach Volleyball World Championships in Puebla, Mexico. Entering the competition with a wild card granted by the FIVB, the team advanced impressively to the round of 16, gaining critical match experience on the international stage.

The Iranian pair began their campaign with strong momentum:

  • Won all three matches in the group stage
  • Defeated teams from China and Argentina
  • Secured a thrilling comeback win against Ukraine

However, their tournament run concluded when they faced the second-seeded Polish team of Szymon Beta and Artem Besarab, who beat them in straight sets in the round of 16.

This marked GhalehNovi’s second appearance at a youth world event, following his bronze medal at the 2024 U19 World Championships. Despite missing other international competitions, such as the Asian U21 Championships due to travel constraints, he continues to gain valuable experience that supports his long-term goals, including a potential future Olympic qualification.

Competing in Puebla offered the young Iranian team crucial exposure to high-level opponents and boosted their confidence on the global stage. Their performance highlights the importance of international tournaments in developing upcoming talent for the AVC Tour and beyond.
