Italian Duo Triumphs at Beach Pro Tour Nayarit Challenge

Italian duo Samuele Cottafava and Gianluca Dal Corso celebrated a significant milestone in their beach volleyball careers by securing their first Challenge gold medal at the Beach Pro Tour Nayarit Challenge in Mexico. They triumphed with a 2-0 (21-17, 21-17) victory against Leon Luini and Matthew Immers of the Netherlands in the final match.

In this victory, Cottafava displayed exceptional skill with four aces and 14 spike kills. Meanwhile, Dal Corso made a significant impact with five kill blocks and nine successful swings. This win marks an important step in their journey, having previously earned a silver at a Futures event, showcasing their potential to become a strong presence on the international beach volleyball scene.

For the Dutch duo Luini and Immers, claiming silver represented their first podium finish as a pair in the Beach Pro Tour, their best result being a bronze at an FIVB Beach Volleyball World Tour in 2020. The Israeli pair, Eylon Elazar and Kevin Cuzmiciov, achieved a bronze medal after a decisive win against Argentina’s Tomas and Nicolas Capogrosso for third place.

Elazar's defensive prowess was highlighted with eight kill blocks, contributing to a match-high of 22 points. The Nayarit Challenge continues to be a pivotal event on the Beach Pro Tour, offering a crucial platform for both emerging talents and seasoned players aiming to make a mark in international competitions.
