Anders Mol and Christian Sørum of Norway kicked off the 2025 Beach Pro Tour in dominant fashion, capturing the gold medal at the Elite16 event held in Saquarema, Brazil. The Norwegian duo triumphed over Sweden’s Olympic champions, David Åhman and Jonatan Hellvig, winning Sunday’s final in straight sets (21-18, 21-15) at Campo de Aviação.
Despite returning from a four-month break, Mol and Sørum were in top form. They showcased their prowess by winning all six matches during the tournament, dropping only one set. Their performance continues a powerful run of form—having won four of their last five events at the end of 2024, including the prestigious tour finals.
The gold medal match also highlighted one of the most riveting rivalries in European beach volleyball. With this result, the Norwegians now lead the all-time series against the Swedish team, 8–5.
Bronze Medal Match
In the third-place battle, the Netherlands' Stefan Boermans and Yorick de Groot defeated Brazil’s Pedro Oliveira and Renato Lima decisively in straight sets (21-11, 21-14). This event marked the Dutch team's first appearance of the new season and their eighth podium finish since 2021.
