Nuss and Brasher Triumph Again at Gstaad Beach Volleyball Tournament

Kristen Nuss and Taryn Brasher have successfully defended their crown at the prestigious Gstaad Elite16 Beach Volleyball tournament, marking their second consecutive title at this Swiss destination. Their near-perfect performance in 2025 includes a dominant, undefeated streak through six matches, dropping only a single set.

In the final, the American duo triumphed over Latvia’s Tina Graudina and Anastasija Samoilova with a convincing 21-19, 21-18 straight-set win. This accomplishment elevates them into a select group—only the sixth women’s team in tournament history to win back-to-back Gstaad titles, joining icons like Kerri Walsh-Jennings and Misty May-Treanor.

Season Highlights

Their Gstaad success is just one of several high points this year:

  • Gold medal victory in Brasília
  • Podium finishes in Quintana Roo and Saquarema
  • Maintained top form throughout the Beach Pro Tour season

Swiss Crowd Favorites

Host nation Switzerland had reason to celebrate as well. The team of Anouk and Zoé Vergé-Dépré secured the bronze medal by defeating fellow Swiss stars Tanja Hüberli and Leona Kernen. This marks Switzerland’s first Gstaad women’s podium finish in over a decade, the last being in 2012.

What’s Next

Attention now turns to the upcoming Elite16 tournament in Montréal, taking place from August 13–17. As the race for the top of the tour intensifies, all eyes will be on Nuss and Brasher to see if they can continue their remarkable 2025 run.
