French beach volleyball duo Elouan Chouik and Joadel Gardoque have reached a major milestone by advancing to the semifinals of the Itapema Beach Pro Tour Elite16. Held on the scenic Meia Praia Beach in Brazil, this event is one of the key highlights on the 2025 calendar.
This marks the first time Chouik and Gardoque have reached the semifinals at this elite level, and only their second appearance in an Elite16 tournament. In a strong Saturday showing, the young team took down two experienced pairs:
- Defeated top Brazilian team of George Wanderley and Saymon Barbosa in straight sets.
- Won a tense three-set battle against American siblings Taylor and Trevor Crabb.
Now, the French pair prepares to face Brazilian qualifiers André Loyola and Renato Lima. The second semifinal features local stars Evandro Gonçalves and Arthur Lanci against Latvia’s Martins Plavins and Kristians Fokerots. The finals are scheduled for Sunday, 17:00 local time.
Since teaming up in late 2024, Chouik and Gardoque have made a rapid rise, already claiming a gold at the Montpellier Futures in July. Their performance in Itapema marks a significant career breakthrough and underscores their potential as one of the most exciting young teams on the international tour.
The Itapema event is part of the 2025 Beach Pro Tour Elite16, an elite competition that gathers the world’s top-ranked teams in high-level matches across the globe.
