Spain's Daniel Moreno and Roberto Sanfelix achieved a significant career milestone by earning their first Beach Pro Tour gold at the Karpacz Futures in Poland. Displaying exceptional skill, they dominated a competitive lineup of 28 men's teams from 14 countries, showcasing their prowess by dropping only one set in five matches.
Their path to victory included a semifinal triumph over the top-seeded German pair, Tristan Frobel and Tamo Wust, with scores of 21-16 and 21-11. In the final, they secured the title with a decisive 21-17, 21-16 win against Poland’s Mikolaj Kaczmarek and Kacper Taudul.
The Polish duo, seeded 15th, delighted local supporters by securing the silver medal. This marked their first podium finish on the Beach Pro Tour. They reached the finals after defeating fellow Polish players Wiktor Musial and Tomasz Warych in the semifinals with a 21-12, 21-18 scoreline.
Meanwhile, Germany's Tristan Frobel and Tamo Wust claimed the bronze medal. They achieved their second medal in consecutive appearances this season by overcoming Musial and Warych with a hard-fought 2-1 (21-16, 15-21, 18-16) victory in the third-place playoff.
The Beach Pro Tour Futures series is set to continue with upcoming events in Hangzhou, China; Balikesir, Turkey; Bridlington, United Kingdom; and Geneva, Switzerland, from June 25-28. These venues promise to continue featuring rising beach volleyball talent on the global stage.
