Yves Haussener and Julian Friedli have secured a spot in the **semifinals** of the **Yucatan Challenge** on the Volleyball World Beach Pro Tour. The unseeded Swiss duo fought through a challenging **knockout stage** on Saturday, winning two intense three-set matches to remain in title contention in **Puerto Progreso, Mexico**.

Their journey included a dramatic victory over **Germany’s Philipp Huster and Maximilian Just** (23-21, 22-24, 17-15) and a comeback win against **Brazilian qualifiers Adelmo Folha and Mateus Dultra** (21-23, 21-17, 15-13). Friedli was instrumental in their success, delivering **nine kill blocks** in the round of 16 and leading all scorers with **25 points** in the quarterfinals.

Upcoming Semifinals

Haussener and Friedli will now face **Austria’s Christoph Dressler and Philipp Waller** in Sunday’s second semifinal. Dressler and Waller advanced to the semifinals with a remarkable win over the **second-seeded Chilean duo, Marco and Esteban Grimalt**, followed by a tight victory against **Swedish pair Jacob Holting Nilsson and Elmer Andersson**.

The **other semifinal** will see **Portugal’s Joao Pedrosa and Hugo Campos** take on the **reigning world champions, Ondrej Perusic and David Schweiner, from Czechia**. Pedrosa and Campos stunned the **top-seeded Cuban duo, Noslen Diaz and Jorge Alayo**, in straight sets, while Perusic and Schweiner dominated their Italian and French opponents to secure their place in the final four.

Both **semifinal matches** will take place on Sunday, followed by the **bronze medal match** and the **championship final**.
