Switzerland’s rising beach volleyball stars made a significant impact at the Yucatan Beach Pro Tour Challenge, securing silver medals in both the men’s and women’s competitions in Puerto Progreso, Mexico.
Tanja Hüberli and Leona Kernen, just 19 years old, delivered an impressive performance in their first tournament as a team, finishing second in the women’s event. Meanwhile, Yves Haussener and Julian Friedli, only 18, claimed silver in the men’s competition after an outstanding journey from the qualifiers to the final.

This event marked the beginning of the 2025 Beach Pro Tour Challenge-level season, featuring 50 women’s and 56 men’s teams from 34 nations. The tour now moves to Xiamen, China, for the next Challenge event from May 14-18.
