Top Men's Beach Volleyball Teams of 2025: A Year in Review

Swedish pair David Åhman and Jonatan Hellvig have emerged as the top-ranked men's beach volleyball team of 2025 after a standout season that saw them crowned world champions. Their commanding run throughout the year set a new benchmark on the Volleyball World Beach Pro Tour.

The 2025 season featured 56 events across 28 countries, encompassing Elite16, Challenge, and Futures tournaments. Following the 2024 Paris Olympics, global interest in beach volleyball has surged, and this season played a pivotal role in showcasing athletic excellence across continents.

A defining highlight came at the FIVB Beach Volleyball World Championship in Adelaide, Australia — the first time the Asian Volleyball Confederation hosted the premier tournament. Åhman and Hellvig triumphed there, bringing Sweden its first-ever men's world title in the sport.

Sweden also placed another team in the upper echelon, with Jacob Hölting Nilsson and Elmer Andersson finishing second overall. Norway's Olympic champions Anders Mol and Christian Sørum secured the third spot, maintaining their elite status in international play.
