The Ukrainian and Hungarian teams dominated the Budapest Beach Volleyball Futures event, which is part of the Beach Pro Tour and featured athletes from 25 countries. The Ukrainian team of Ivan Likhatskyi and Richard Likhatskyi claimed the men's gold medal. Despite a shaky start, they triumphed over Bulgaria’s Dimitar Mehandzhiyski and Dimitar Kalchev in the final with a decisive 2-0 victory. This achievement added to their previous success of earning two bronze medals. Their journey to gold included a challenging semifinal against fellow Ukrainians Sergiy Popov and Illia Tiurin.

On the women's side, Hungary's Stefania Kun and Lilla Villam celebrated their second gold win in the Beach Pro Tour. They demonstrated outstanding skill by remaining unbeaten throughout the event, ultimately defeating Norway's Nina Pavlova and Sunniva Helland-Hansen in the finals with a 2-0 score. Additionally, Lithuania's Skalve Krizanauskaite and Rugile Grudzinskaite made a remarkable debut by securing the bronze medal.

The FIVB Volleyball Empowerment program was instrumental in the success of these teams, promoting expanded global participation in the sport of beach volleyball. The Beach Pro Tour's next stop is in Corigliano Rossano, Italy, from September 17 to 20.
